RP-HPLC Method development and validation of Febuxostat in dosage forms RP-HPLC method was developed and validated for Febuxostat in dosage forms. The achieved by C18 (Grace) column of (4.6×250 mm) with particle size packing 5 µm and Methanol: Water (90:10) (0.05 % OPA) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. The detection was carried out at 315 nm. The retention time of Febuxostat 5.13min. Reproducibility of the chromatographic system was adequate. Accuracy of method is ascertained by recovery studies performed at different levels of concentrations (80%, 100% and 150%). The % recovery was found to be within 97-101%. Precision studies were carried out using parameter like intra-day and inter-day Precision, the study showed that the results were within acceptance limit. i.e.% RSD below 2.0 indicating reproducibility of method. Linearity of Febuxostat was observed in the range of 10-50 μg/ml and Detection of wavelength used was 315 nm. The calibration curve yielded correlation coefficient (r2) 0.999& 0.999 for Febuxostat.
