Abstract

Virgin coconut oil is produced by cold pressed method by Dehusking (removal of husk), Deshelling(removal of shell), pairing, by extracting and slicing coconut white meat, disintegrating, converting to desiccated coconut powder, expel the virgin coconut oil through filtering process.The whole process contain about 60-65% of the oil.Virgin coconut oil is the purest form of coconut oil which retain most of its functional components.The aim of present study involve development of herbal hair tonic from the virgin coconut oil extracts of a mix of nine herbs such as amla, hibiscus, curry leaf, aloevera, henna, bringraj, tulsi, shallots and neela amari in varying concenteration which is beneficial as a hair tonic.
