Liver is the biggest solid organ in the human body. Basically, it weighs around 3 pounds in adulthood. Liver is significant to the body’s metabolic functions and immune system. Without a functioning liver, an individual cannot survive. Liver diseases are a major health issue worldwide, making it necessary to develop new molecules that help counteract or prevent such diseases. Hepatotoxin is a noxious chemical substance which damages the liver. It may be a side-effect of medication, or found naturally, as microcystins, or in laboratory environments. There is a shortage of reliable hepatoprotective drugs in current medicine to prevent and treat drug-induced liver injuries. Nature has gifted us with many things for our sake among which milk is taken into account because it is the most functional natural liquid as it is produced abundantly and has a great many nutritional values. Camel milk is a boon for the mankind. Camel milk has been used for hundreds of years as a medicinal drink in Middle Eastern, Asian, and African cultures. Camel milk is a good replacement for human milk as it doesn’t carry β-lacto globulin. Lot of research findings have proven that camel milk is easily digested by lactase deficient individuals. It contains disease-fighting immunoglobulin’s which are small in size, thus allowing penetration of antigens and boosting the effectiveness of the immune system. The present review is aimed at compiling data on camel milk with hepatoprotective activity on various models of hepatotoxicity.
