Social media is the most recent form of media and also have gained popularity in the world. It has a popular medium among students also because they are more interested in using information and communication technology in every field compare to any other age group. Social media is a very broad term and really encompasses many different types of media such as videos, blogs, social networking sites etc. Now a days social media are becoming an important part of people's lives. Students are spending much time on social media and are considered the largest category of users that uses such application. Social media is a set of collective channels for online communication sources dedicated to provide the facilities of input, communication, sharing ideas and online collaboration. It is a place where you can create and share the content. Students are the main focus of this study because students is very important for future of any Nation and county's progress and development. Mehmood & Taswir (2013) believe that the use of technology such as social media is one of the factors that can influence the performance of students positively or negatively. The rate of using social media is very high among the students so their are high chances to get affected by using it. Social media provide a wide range of benefits and opportunity for students. They spend most of their time in social media for watching videos and sharing online content. The present study will attempt to find out the impact of social media on academic performance of school students of a Senior secondary school. The present study will be based on primary data using online questionnaire from 50 students of a senior secondary school.
