Focusing on combining both solar and wind to generate efficient energy Solar-wind
has become an independent, sustainable and clean energy solution, yet this has not
been adopted in many countries. This energy is estimated to overcome the demand of
power in the future because of its ability to produce several megawatts of power with
zero emission. The aim of this study is to design and develop a hybrid wind and solar
energy generation which can increase the electrical energy’s efficiency by using the
wind turbine and solar panels. The implemented system aims at providing an
amplified alternative source of renewable energy to serve for the already
diminishing, pollutant and insufficient traditional fuels like oils etc.
The implemented hybrid design consists of an improved design for the VAWT and
Dual Axis solar panel, to being eco-friendly, it is also relatively cheaper when
compared to the conventional methods of electricity generation. This turbine uses
both Solar and Wind Energies to generate electricity. So, we have two efficient and
inexhaustible sources for uninterrupted generation of electricity. The system has two
basic components – one for generation of electricity through Solar Energy and
another one for generation from Wind Energy. Even in the case of absence of either
of the two sources, the other remaining source could be used to supplement the
absence of the former. This paper deals with the hybrid power generation by using
VAWT turbine and solar tracking.
