In modern neoliberal India citizens have become more active and expressive through use of digital media. Day to day the different kind of social media is playing the significant role in making the communication more effective and has become the key important for globalization. Apart from the major roles of New media there are underlying serious mental health issues caused by overindulging in social media which are ignored on the mass level. The issues such as information bombarding and doomscrolling the social media is often blamed for creating the habit of unhealthy lifestyle among the hyperactive netizens. The influence of overindulging media habit results in unbalanced mental state among the gen-Z (Generation –Z) youths. However, this qualitative data based content analysis research work states the importance of incorporating positive psychology which is an interdisciplinary course to media studies that can help the educators, budding media professionals & students to create the contents and media habit by giving more focus to mental well- being.
