| Abstract: | This study emphasizes the importance of historical context, personal relevance, and evolving perspectives on work-life balance. It begins by discussing why work-life balance has gained significance in research. After presenting both traditional and fresh viewpoints, it explores the different determinants that influence work-life balance and the outcomes that result from it. It also offers a conceptual model that outlines the causes and effects of work-life balance, supported by a detailed discussion. It is found that the modern work environment's complexities, including technology and globalization, require rethinking traditional notions. This study encounters the zero-sum game notion and identifies positive associations between work and personal life. It is suggested that organisations should implement policies and practices that support work-life balance. Therefore, it is concluded that addressing these concerns requires supportive policies and individual self-care to create an improved and healthier work environment. |
