Abstract: Stripping is one of the main issue affected by the bituminous pavements. An increase in aggregate bitumen adhesiveness property can reduce the stripping effect. Additives are substances added to bitumen to modify bitumen characteristics by improving workability and the adhesion to aggregate. Also additives are used to improve the quality standards for bitumen and asphalts, improved adherence to aggregate, decreased viscosity, and prevention of binder drainage .This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Organosilane based Zycosil Plus as an additive in bitumen for improving its binding properties. A series of laboratory tests were conducted to assess the physical and volumetric properties of the modified bitumen. Marshall stability test was used to find optimum percentage of additive to be added.Marshall stability test and Ageing test were used to conclude the effectiveness of the additive. The optimum bitumen content and optimum additive contents are found. The results showed that the addition of Zycosil-Plus to bitumen improved its adhesion and cohesion properties, which resulted in better bonding performance. The study concludes that Zycosil Plus can be used as an effective additive in bitumen for enhancing its bonding properties, which can lead to the development of high-quality road construction materials.
