Abstract: ABSTRACT: Online learning is the newest and most popular form of distance education today. Within the past decade it has had a major impact on postsecondary education and the trend is only increasing. In this survey we will explore what the experience of online learning is like for students and how it has changed the role of the instructor. Online learning is catalyzing a pedagogical shift in how we teach and learn. There is a shift away from top-down lecturing and passive students to a more interactive, collaborative approach in which students and instructor co-create the learning process. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to assess the experience of online classes during lockdown period of Covid-19 Pandemic among nursing students. METHODOLOGY: The research approach is a quantitative approach and the research design was Descriptive Survey design analysed by using descriptive statistics. Validity was ensured in consultation with guide and experts in the related fields. Reliability of the tool was computed by Karl Pearson, s formula. RESULTS: The findings of the study includes both good and bad online experience of the students, where majority 77.5% were always present in online classes, 45% students always understood the vocabulary used in the online classes, 52.5% students stated that online classes foster technical skill development always, 42.2% had reduced interpersonal relationship with teachers always, 50% stated that online classes had greater load of assignments, only 32.5% had pleasant experience through online classes and only 42.5% stated that they are always interested in continuing online classes. Hence all the objectives framed by the investigator were achieved and thus it is concluded that the online classes provided both good and bad experience to the students.
