The abstract proves the sense of isolation and disharmony that women is increased with the character, internally traumatized and weak, as this is stereotypically represented. This study explores the theme of isolation of female protagonists in Anitha Desai’s novels. Analysis tends to investigate how different characters experience develop different approaches in their novels.Although there have been several literary women investigations by men and women, scientific studies on women, particularly in India, have increased only recently. The exploration of psyche is linked to reality and politics, a feminine theme in Indian English Literature."Voices in the City" is a powerful novel that tries to explore the Feminine consciousness. This novel is about three women living in post-independence India, who explore their identities and the challenges they face in a patriarchal society. It is a thought-provoking read that delves into themes of societal expectations and the complexities of being a woman. Her novel envisages the idea that women would require something more than food, clothes, and accommodation. She is one of the Indian writers who have tried to change contemporary society with her pen. I chose this topic because I felt the thoughtfulness in living in such a society as a woman.
