Code-switching is a common linguistic practice in India, particularly in urban areas where bilingual or multilingual communication often alternates between English and regional languages. This research examines the reasons behind code-switching, the contexts in which it occurs, and the social and cultural implications of this linguistic behavior. Through qualitative interviews, surveys, and audio analysis, the study explores the role of English as a social marker and regional languages as cultural identifiers. Findings reveal that code-switching is a dynamic tool used to navigate professional, social, and familial relationships in urban India.
