Siblings often grow up in the same household and environment, they have a large amount of exposure to one another, but still siblings can have hierarchical difference. To find out this fact the researcher has undertaken the study entitled as “Health Status and Temperament of Children in Pertaining to Birth Order”. The purpose of this study was to compare the health status and temperamental trait between selected first and second siblings of Amravati city, Maharashtra. Researcher hypothesized that significant difference will be observed in health status and temperamental trait between first and second siblings of Amravati city, Maharashtra. For the present study 24 siblings (12 pairs) were selected from Amravati city, Maharashtra by purposive sampling technique. Buss measure of temperament (EASI) and SF-36 questionnaire was used for collection of data of temperamental trait and health status respectively. The collected data was analyzed using‘t’ test. Result shows in all components of temperamental traits viz. Emotionally, Activity, sociability and impulsivity, the elder sibling have higher score than the younger one. But, in two components i.e. emotionally and impulsivity there are significant difference exists. Also, researcher found better health status in younger siblings than elder siblings but no significant difference between them at 0.05 level of significance and the researcher hypothesis is rejected.
