The demand for advanced home security solutions has surged as property crimes and home
invasions continue to pose significant risks worldwide. This paper introduces an IoT-enabled
anti-theft floor mat that combines pressure-sensitive technology with real-time alerts, creating
an unobtrusive, cost-effective security layer for residential spaces. The system employs a
multi-sensor design—incorporating pressure, vibration, and temperature sensors—to detect
unauthorized activity with high precision, relaying data to users via a dedicated mobile app.
Designed for seamless integration with existing home security networks, this smart mat offers
customized notifications and historical data analysis, empowering users to make informed
decisions about their property’s security. Experimental results demonstrate the mat’s efficacy
in distinguishing normal foot traffic from potential security breaches, with minimal false-alarm
rates. This innovative, adaptable system provides an additional line of defense against
unauthorized access while preserving user privacy and ease of use. Future advancements in
power efficiency and AI-driven alert accuracy are explored to enhance the mat’s adaptability
in diverse environments
