COVID 19, The Pandemic, Social service, Trekshitiz Organization, Vivekananda Seva Mandal, NGOs.
COVID 19 Pandemic can be considered as a landmark event. It has halted the speedy lifestyle, cut throat competition - rampant in all areas of life. It has made humanity introspect to a great extent. The pandemic has once again shown, the very little capacity human beings have, in spite of the inventions and discoveries and scientific advancement. COVID 19 has emphasised the fact, that the nature is superior. The pandemic has been instrumental in developing the sense of belongingness and one-ness among the humanity by keeping aside the differences. It has successfully made us what we are – “The Humans”. With the deadly disease, expanding further and encompassing the whole of the humanity, the struggle for life was very evident. The ones who did not struggle to satisfy the basic needs for some or the other reasons, further extended help to those who were struggling to meet the ends. With the great negative impact of the pandemic already in sight, human efforts were targeted towards the minimization of these negative impacts by helping each other out to cope with it. This is where the NGOs came in the picture. In the wake of this, the paper undertakes a case study about such a humanitarian initiative implemented by Vivekananda Seva Mandal, Trekshitiz Organization and such other likeminded organizations. This initiative helped the needy to get groceries, basic necessities for a stipulated period. The research is carried out based on a few primary sources like survey, empirical findings, questionnaire, primary reports etc.
