Background of the study: Excessive gaming can lead to online gaming addiction, a behavioral disorder characterized by compulsive use of games that interferes with daily life, work, and relationships Aim: “The aim of the study is to assess the Effectiveness of structured awareness teaching programme regarding Reducing the Negative Psychological and Physiological Effects of Online Gaming Among Adolescents in Shyam Sundar Jamunadeen Inter College , Fazullaganj in Lucknow ,U.P.” Objectives: To assess the knowledge Reducing the Negative Psychological and Physiological Effects of Online Gaming Among Adolescents in Shyam Sundar Jamunadeen Inter College , Fazullaganj in Lucknow ,U.P.” Methodology- A Quantitative approach with quasi experimental ( one-group pre-test post-test design) research approach was used . Non probability purposive , convenient sampling was used for select the 100 Adolescents who were registered in Shyam Sundar Jamunadeen Inter College , Fazullaganj in Lucknow. Self – structured questionnaire was administered with pen and paper method to collect the data. Pre – test sampling was conducted on the same day Structured Teaching Programme was given & after a period of 1 month post – test was observed. Result and findings- Data analyzed by using SPSS version 26 (Descriptive and Inferential Statistics were used mean , median , range , frequency , percentage , standard deviation , chi – square & paired ‘t’ test ). The data represented that the mean pre-test knowledge score (5.88±3.57) regarding negative physiological and psychological effect of online gaming among adolescents ( aged 10-19 years) was less than the mean post-test knowledge score (27.03±2.31), also showed the effectiveness of structured teaching programme . Chi square test revealed that there There was no statistical association was found between knowledge score with age , gender , class , residence , type of family, Parent/guardian occupation , Socioeconomic status, Duration of gaming per day , mode of gaming , What kind of game prefer to play . Conclusion: the finding of the study reveals that after the implementation of structured awareness teaching programme the knowledge score level was improved. Hence the structured awareness teaching programme was effective.
