This work will propose the islanded operation of a microgrid to give the continuous supply of critical local loads as a power quality requirement and there is no need of stopping the power generation from DG sources. The microgrids will be developed with the competence of operating in grid-connected and island mode. An efficient algorithm will be developed for synchronizing the microgrid with the main grid every time the recloser is allowed is crucial for assuring a safe operation. Besides, the voltage control of the microgrid plays a great role in the synchronization system performance. This work will introduce a new technique for resynchronizing islanded microgrid with the main grid when it is restored. Simulation results will assure smooth transitions and unnoticeable transients. This work will help for the future standardization of island and grid-connected operation.
