Scheduling in cloud environment is accountable for choosing best suitable resources for workflow execution, by taking some static and dynamic parameters and restrictions of workflows into consideration. · The goal is to produce an optimal workflow scheduling approach to reduce the completion time called as makespan (turnaround time) of workflow execution. · A modified genetic algorithm is applied on the workflow scheduling problem in cloud computing environment. Niche methods have been applied to reduce drift effects which are genetic in nature, resulting from the replacement operator in the simple GA. This modification supports to minimize the makespan (turnaround time) of the cloud computing based services and probability of servicing the request also has been converged using the modified scheduling.
