A study to assess the effectiveness of computer assisted teaching on knowledge regarding bubble therapy in children with respiratory disorder among staff nurses in selected hospital, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
ABSTRACT
Respiratory diseases are very frequently occurs in children and it is mostly causes by air1. when any child or person is suffer from respiratory diseases child may touches infected toys and objects with hand and touches their nose and eyes2. The management for various respiratory disease is not possible in childhood stage3. Treatment is mostly focus on prevention and control of respiratory disease4. According to studies it shows that the incidence rate of respiratory diseases is about 2.5 to 6.7 per children in a year in India5. A study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of computer assisted teaching on knowledge regarding bubble therapy in children with respiratory disorder among staff nurses. A quasi experimental One group pretest posttest research design was used for the study. The setting of the study was Rama hospital research centre, Kanpur Uttar Pradesh and the sample size was 60 staff nurses selected by convenience sampling technique in the study. The data was obtained from self-structured questionnaire. The findings of the study shows that in pretest majority of staff nurses have inadequate knowledge and in posttest majority of staff nurses have adequate knowledge and computer assisted teaching is effective on knowledge regarding bubble therapy in children with respiratory disorder among staff nurses and the association between level of knowledge regarding bubble therapy in children with respiratory disorder among staff nurses in selected hospital with their demographic variables,age, educational status, clinical experience, previous knowledge on bubble therapy have significant level of knowledge except gender. It can be concluded that the computer assisted teaching is effective on knowledge regarding bubble therapy in children with respiratory disorder among staff nurses.
