Thermodynamic parameters and kinetic parameters of Zn (II) complexes with neomycin, chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline, tetracycline, penicillin-V and penicillin-G as primary ligands and phenacetin as secondary ligand were determined by polarographic technique and it is observed that the half wave potential increased with increase in the concentrations of secondary ligand phenacetin showing the formation of ternary complex of zinc metal with penicillin-G and phenacetin. The values of standard rate constant (k) of Zn and its complexes are found to be order of 10-3 cm. sec-1, confirming that the electrode processes are quasi reversible. The value of charge transfer coefficient (α), comes about 0.500. The values obtained of ΔS are found to be more negative at higher temperature confirmed that the complex are not stable at higher temperature. The values of stability constants obtained are not high and the study showed that the complexes are not stable at higher temperature.
