The transdermal patches of Flufenamic acid are meant to deliver the anti inflammatory drug through the epidermis at controlled rate of release. The transdermal route of drug administration allows to deliver lesser doses than that of oral route to get the desired bioavailability by overcoming the hepatic first-pass metabolism.. The release studies were done by using Franz diffusion cell apparatus. Stability studies of the formulated patches was done for 30,60 and 90 days, according tο ICH guidelines and the Patches were retaining the size and shape after 90 days. It was found that the drug to PVP K 901 ratio 1:2 was most effective in increasing the drug release from the patches. This work will help to minimizing the drug doses and hence the cost of medication to the patients.
