Abstract: Atychiphobia happens among students when they experience anxiety and fear during evaluation situation and losing the attention of the people they care about. Students face continuous pressure caused by memorization, preparation to exams, fear of academic future. So, it becomes important to put focus on the area to help adolescents in dealing with their feeling of fear of failing. The main objective of the study is to assess the attitude towards atychiphobia among the undergraduate students, and to find out the association between the selected variable and the attitude towards atychiphobia. Students fear of failure and self-efficacy go side by side, students who think that they are not able to perform properly in particular situations are more likely to be fearful of that situation. Fear of failure is useful to improve student conduct and performance in some situations, but it is also problem making as it causes social and emotional deterioration of student. Method: Quantitative approach and Descriptive study design was adopted, sample comprised of 372 undergraduate students selected using convenience sampling technique from selected colleges of Himachal Pradesh. Data was collected using Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (PFAI). Results: The result of the study shows that 257(69.1%) of undergraduate students show average attitude towards atychiphobia, 81(21.8%) of undergraduate students shows good attitude towards atychiphobia and 34(9.1%) of undergraduate students shows poor attitude towards atychiphobia score based on Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory. There was a positive association between sociodemographic variable i.e., between gender and atychiphobia that is very significant. Discussion: The result of the study depicts that 69% students were having average attitude regarding atychiphobia, whereas 21.8% students were having good attitude and rest 9.1% students were having poor attitude regarding atychiphobia.
