Nutritional status is the current body status of a person or a population group related to their state of nourishment ( the consumption and utilisation of nutrients ) Optimal nutritional status = Balance between intake and requirement .Factors that affect the nutritional status include biological factors , economic factors, cognitive factors , social factors and psychological factor The study was aimed to assess the nutritional status and dietary habits of the children , to know about the snacking behaviour among these children , to access the impact of screen time on their diet and health status and to know about food insecurity and its impact on their health . A study was conducted at Hyderabad .100 samples of children were collected between the age 6 – 10 years . A well structured questionnaire was develop to gather the information and face to face interviewed and their Anthropometric measurements ,dietary intake, sleep pattern, information on physical activity and questions related to food insecurity were asked the effect of lifestyle and dietary practices were included to access the dietary pattern of the subject . Each subject was interviewed about the dietary pattern . The collected data was tabulated and analysed statistically using one sample t test the result shows that t values are (<0.50) and is significant at t 050 The result reveals that 40 % of children are healthy weight 25 % children are under weight 32% are over weight and 21% are obese because of consumption of snacks and meals per day and due to less physical activity the children are obese and children who spend more time on screening are having eyesight problem and spectacle 21% children are underweight because of food insecurity these children health is affected and most of them are underweight.
