Honey is naturally sweet and a remarkably rich source of carbohydrates, amino acids, and antioxidants. It is frequently referred to as "the nectar of the gods." Despite having a high carbohydrate content, honey has a low glycemic index, making it a beneficial dietary supplement for diabetics. Honey's fructose content has hepatoprotective properties, and the antioxidants it contains offer strong defence against oxidative damage. Even for diabetics and infants, honey is the preferred diet due to its medicinal properties. Honey has anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, immune-modulating, medicinal, nutritive, antibacterial, and anti-diabetic properties. The goal of this paper is to analyse honey's properties in general with a focus on its anti-diabetic properties.
