This study was conducted in eastern area of River Nile, about 42 km North east Dongola town, Northern State, to investigate and determine the suitable lands for the establishment of an agricultural project in the study area, and evaluate and determine the soil Physical, Chemical Properties and land topography for agricultural activities in the study area using GIS, Remote sensing, soil survey and analysis. The study area covering (4945.6 feddans). This research was based on the data and information extracted from soil survey, remote sensed land-sat 8 images dated 2018 goggle earth data, in addition to fieldwork observation and ground truth aided by GPS Garmin 60C navigator and geographic information system were used to generate soil map and calculate the soil class or unties area in the study area. Satellite image was enhanced, interpreted; classified, transformed and analyzed using ERDAS Imagine 8.5 and Arc-GIS 10.21, by using the soil salinity levels, Alkalinity, Moisture content, Elevation and according American soil classification system and (FAO, 1990 and 2006) the project area classified into two main units, S2 (3504.1 feddans ), its currently suitable for agriculture activities, these unit (S2) are characterized by slight to moderate salinity, slight to moderate alkalinity, Non sodic and relative flatness surface. This unit was divided into 4 sub units, S2m, S2ma, S2me and S2mse respectively according to Quality and current value of cultivation of each sub unit. The second unit named S3 (marginally suitable lands) it covered about 1441.5 feddans, The soil under this class is characterized by both salt hazard Alkalinity and severe undulated topography classified into sub classes, S3mae and S3mse, where this unit (S3) needs more effort to reclaim it for cultivation of field and horticultural crops. The study conclude that remote sensing, Google earth images and GIS map are important and useful in studying lands and testing their suitability for agricultural activities, especially the characteristics that can be studied remotely, such as topography, Sand dunes, sand encroachments, Soil moisture and salt deposited at the soil surface.
