The use of seismic isolator in India is very less but it is now used very frequently in USA, Canada Mexico, Chili, New Zeeland and Japan. These countries are very prone to earthquake and damage of structure motivated them to use this technology, which keep the structure safe against severest earth-quake. That is why all important bridge and essential services buildings like Hospital Server room, Communication centers and strategic control room are made seismically isolated either by retrofitting of existing structure or by constructing new structure with isolators. To motivate the use of seismic control devices in India more research and awareness is required and hence this study is carried out to compare the seismic response of different isolator on RCC bridge substructure. Seismic Isolators has been commonly used in important structures in earthquake prone areas as it is found suitable for heavy loaded structures in respect of strength and serviceability point of view.
