A case-study on Students Attitude and Effects of Online learning among Undergraduate students with special reference to Don Bosco College in the district of Golaghat, Assam
The Covid-19 pandemic brought changes to Higher Education institutions, locally and globally. The Covid-19 lockdown period in worldwide during the year 2020-21 enabled the higher education lecturers/instructors to reflect on the struggle of utilization of e-technologies for effective students’ engagement in learning process. Especially in higher educational institutions different e-Learning platforms like Zoom, LMS, Google Meet, Big Blue Button (BBB) were used for the accessibility and affordability of the learning resources. With this background, this study intended to assess the strength, weakness and challenges faced by them during online classes of Degree level students. For this purpose, primary data were collected from 122 students randomly selected from Don Bosco College in Golaghat District through Google Form. The result found 42(34.4%) respondents stated that the availability of the audio/video class is the major benefit of online classes. Also easy to access the learning materials, reduce cost of learning etc. are benefits of online classes. 76 (62%) respondents stated that the lack of technical knowledge of using e-learning platforms is the major weakness of online classes. It’s revealed that internet issue is the major challenges in making online classes effective.
