TESTING OF DURABILITY OF BASALT FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE

This paper present the art of knowledge of basalt fiber, it is relatively new material. Basalt fiber is a high performance non-metallic fiber made from basalt rock melted at high temperature. Basalt fiber reinforced concrete offers more characteristics such as light weight, good fire resistance and strength. In future it is very beneficial for construction industry. Presence of fiber in concrete improves the physical properties as well as it acts as crack arresters. In this paper, an attempt is made to predict the impact of basalt fiber in the properties of M30 grade concrete for various proportions of basalt fiber (i.e. 0.2%, 0.25%, 0.3%, 0.4%, and 0.45%).
