Abstract: This research formulated open-wound healing cream using the quantitative method, specifically the true experimental design. In effectively formulating the product, the researchers adopted but modified the protocol. They combined Olive Oil (80.2g), Coconut Oil (80.24g), Beeswax (36.25g), and Honey (18.15g). Thereafter, the different concentrations of the formulated creams were subjected to in vitro and vivo testing. In vitro testing, the results showed that the product T5 (75% concentration in favor of Citrus microcarpa) produced a satisfactory result by being active in inhibiting S. aureus. Additionally, this formulated product is safe for use on the skin or wounds since its pH level is 4.29 and is within the required range for a wound-healing cream. Furthermore, the in vivo testing, results revealed that the formulated cream (treatment) exhibited more wound healing results than the Betadine cream (positive control). In terms of the wound area, the formulated cream HCO demonstrated the fastest wound-healing activity, compared with the Betadine cream. In terms of body weight, replicates under 75% in favor of Calamansi hCO concentration got the highest difference. Additionally, it was found that there is a significant difference in the mean of inhibitions of different concentrations between control and treatment groups in terms of antibacterial properties and in the size of the wound in terms of different concentrations applied. Conversely, there is no significant difference in the mean weight of sample mice in terms of different concentrations applied. Hence, it is recommended that further testing such as histopathology and tensile strength may be performed to measure the efficacy of the open-wound healing cream.
