| Abstract: | Parabens like preservatives are generally used as additives in pharmaceutical products, food and make up items. A preservative is a natural or chemical substance added to a range of products which helps to avoid microbial decomposition. For many years scientist have been attentive of the must to protect their commodities against microbial contamination but it is only during the last one or perhaps two decades the serious thought of has been applied to the science of preservation. Some of them mainly fluid preparations are susceptible to microbial contamination because of the composition of the cosmetics. Such products are protected by preservatives which avoids degradation and change of the product. Present article deals with the study of supreme properties, categorization, mode of action, applications and its effects on health of Parabens. |
