| Abstract: | The study intends to examine the dominant gender element in contemporary newsrooms. It identifies and analyses the current situation and working conditions of women journalists in the print medium. The evolution of women's leadership roles in the twenty-first century was another area of emphasis in the study. To further comprehend the research a qualitative study was conducted. The study's conclusions are the result of a detailed literature review and the use of in- depth interview as a method for gathering data. The research findings make it very evident that journalism is still a largely male-dominated field. Although the working conditions for women journalists are increasingly improving, there are still a number of barriers, such as discrimination, harassment, and preconceived notions in the industry, that limit her ability to advance professionally. Despite an increase in the number of women entering the sector over time, the preconceptions that already exist make it extremely difficult for women to obtain leadership positions. |
