Abstract: Title: Sterility during Packaging in the Pharmaceutical Industry: An Investigation into Materials, Techniques, and Regulatory Standards Abstract: This study provides a comprehensive investigation into the critical aspects of maintaining sterility during pharmaceutical packaging. The research employed a mixed-methods paradigm, integrating observational studies and structured interviews within various pharmaceutical manufacturing settings. The study meticulously evaluated the roles of different packaging materials, including plastic, glass, and aluminum, identifying their unique properties and challenges in preserving sterility. Further, the research assessed several sterilization techniques, such as heat, radiation, and Ethylene Oxide sterilization, revealing their unique strengths and limitations. Regulatory standards across various countries were examined, emphasizing the commonalities in enforcing stringent sterility assurance levels. The study also identified potential sources of sterility compromise, including human error, equipment malfunction, and inadequate procedures. Mitigation strategies such as automation, regular equipment maintenance, comprehensive training, and validation of cleaning and sterilization procedures were proposed. The findings of this study contribute significantly to our understanding of sterility maintenance during pharmaceutical packaging, offering valuable insights to enhance the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products.
