| Abstract: | Human Rights are inherent, universal, inalienable, indivisible, and interdependent. Making sure that today's demands are satisfied without compromising the capacity of future generations to satisfy their own needs is one definition of sustainable development. In one way or another, each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) reflects international human rights norms. Most of the SDGs' 169 goals are highlighted international human rights instruments and conventions. In other words, the SDGs and human rights are interwoven and inextricably tied together. It is impossible to achieve sustainable development without first respecting and enforcing human rights. However, for the purpose of the study, some of the SDGs such as well-being, and good-health and sanitation, and clean water are considered Around 3.5 million indigenous people are thought to have entered the informal labor market in the previous decade, having abandoned farming and other agricultural pursuits. Many members of the Tribal communities have found employment as contract laborer in the construction sector and as domestic servants in large cities as a result of displacement and enforced migration. The catchphrase of Sustainable Development Goals ‘Leave no one behind’ is a hope symbol and a desire for justice and a desire to fight inequality, discrimination, expulsion, and suffering. If the SDGs are met, it will be guaranteed that human rights would be applied uniformly around the globe. The SDG Goals, International Human Rights acts, and observations from the field have been discussed. Indian Government efforts as per the status put up in UN website have also been reviewed. From the above, in spite of the Government's efforts, it is not clear whether any specific targets are fixed for the prevention of human rights violations for migrant construction workers in line with SDG. Hence following are suggested. It is suggested that a committee to be formed consisting of members from Government, Experts, Non-Governmental Organizations, etc., for analyzing the human rights violations of migrant construction workers with reference to the SDG and new targets to be fixed in the Indian Context. |
