Bollywood and Bombay are two interconnected, almost synonymous terms that are often used to refer to the Indian film industry and the city where it is primarily based. Bollywood is a colloquial term for the Hindi-language film industry in India. It is one of the largest and most prominent film industries in the world. The name "Bollywood" is a portmanteau of two words: "Bombay" (the former name of Mumbai) and "Hollywood" (the famous American film industry centered in Los Angeles). Bollywood is known for producing a wide range of films, including musicals, dramas, comedies, and action films. Bombay was the former name of the city that is now known as Mumbai and is home to the Bollywood film industry, as well as various other film and television production companies. The name "Bollywood" emerged as a catchy way to refer to the Hindi film industry, drawing inspiration from the city's former name (Bombay) and the global recognition of Hollywood. The paper delves into the adult lives of Ravan and Eddie, the characters in the novel The Extras(2013) written by Kiran Nagarkar. This paper deals with the engaging continuation of Ravan and Eddie's journey, presenting a new chapter in their lives filled with dreams, struggles, and the unique experiences of adulthood in the bustling city of Bombay.
