Abstract: Surgical site infection (SSI) is one of the leading causes of hospital-acquired infection among hospitalized patients. It causes significant health problems and results in an extended length of hospital stay, increased cost, and increased patient morbidity and mortality. These study explores the utilization of Ceftriaxone, factors hindering the utilization and also the consequences of not utilizing Ceftriaxone in the management of surgical site infection among patient in male and female surgical ward of Yobe State Specialist Hospital Damaturu. The research study employs mixed method as a research design (prospective-cross-sectional study).
