This cross-sectional study aimed to study factors related to the active aging concept and functional capacity of the elderly. The samples were 253 elderly people aged 60 years and over who provided the sample size for multi-stage sampling to calculate the sample size using G*Power software (latest version 3.1.9.7). The active aging concept uses Brandura's learning theory as a guideline for the learning by observation concept, self-regulation concept, and self-efficacy concept. The data collection tools were the standardized active aging concept questionnaire, as determined by the index of consistency (IOC) of 0.938. Descriptive statistics were percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics were stepwise multivariate linear regression to investigate the factors that impact functional abilities associated with active aging. The results showed that functional capacity had a low to moderately positive correlated significance with active aging; the health service system and environmental and lifestyle factors had a moderately positive effect; and behavior had a low positive correlated significance with active aging. The regression coefficients of the health service system and environmental and lifestyle factors had a positive relationship with active aging. In summary, the health service system and environmental and lifestyle factors have a positive relationship with active aging. Relevant agencies can use this as basic information for planning and promoting the development of increased functional capacity for the elderly
