Abstract
South Asia is a region consisting of eight countries. As diverse as the region is, the problem of economy is same throughout the region. There are several economic issues prevailing such as poverty, low GDP per capita income, economic breakdown in some countries of the region, low literacy etc. To solve the problem, we need to understand the causes behind the issue. Here, there are several causes behind these economic issues in the region. The low literacy rate, lack of good educational institutions and skilled labour force, gender inequality and inequality of other kinds, politics and lack of social awareness and social norms are few treasons behind these issues. Several initiatives have been taken by the governments to curb these issues, however, the region still needsw to go ahead with this development and solve the prevailing economic issues.
