Abstract: Background And Objective: Postpartum period is the crucial period for every pregnant women, because 10 to 58% adult female population are suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction which is mainly caused by pregnancy and childbirth. During pregnancy the muscles of pelvic floor become weak and loses it’s activity. So, to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and to maintain their activity the pelvic floor strengthening exercises play an important role. The objective is to investigate the effectiveness of pelvic floor strengthening exercises on pelvic floor muscle activity in postpartum women. Method: A total 24 patients were taken by convenient sampling technique, 20 of them met inclusion criteria and were given the intervention for 6 weeks, 4 days in a week one session for a day i.e. 30 min. The outcome measure is PFDIQ-20 was taken before and after intervention in this study. Results: After six-week intervention, the results indicate that the intervention group had shown significant improvements in pelvic floor muscle activity with a p value of <0.0001 for PFDIQ-20. Conclusion: The results showed that pelvic floor strengthening exercises were effective and improve the pelvic floor muscle activity in postpartum women.
