| Abstract: | Zeb-un-Nisa, a Mughal princess known by her pen name "Makhfi," transcended her royal lineage to become a celebrated poetess whose legacy echoes through time. Through her evocative poetry in Persian, Urdu, and Arabic, she explored themes of love, spirituality, and the human experience. Her adoption of the pseudonym "Makhfi" allowed her to navigate the complexities of the Mughal court while expressing her innermost thoughts with freedom and introspection. Zeb-un-Nisa's patronage of poets, scholars, and artists enriched the cultural milieu, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and artistic diversity. Her resilience, exemplified by her ability to find solace in creativity during imprisonment, underscores the power of self-expression in challenging circumstances.
