Sexual exploitation and trafficking are pervasive issues in Delhi, with GB Road emerging
as a
notorious hub for these crimes. This study endeavors to delve into the intricate web of trafficking,
aiming to elucidate its multifaceted nature through an exploration of various dimensions. By analyzing
secondary data sources comprising scholarly wor ks, reports, and survivors' testimonies, the research
aims to provide insights into the prevalence and harsh realities of trafficking in Delhi. One of the focal
points of this study is to identify the contributing factors that perpetuate the cycle of traff icking. Socio
economic vulnerabilities, gender inequality, lack of education, and systemic failures in law
enforcement are among the key elements that facilitate the exploitation of vulnerable individuals,
particularly women and children. Survivors' testim onies serve as poignant reminders of the trauma and
exploitation endured within the corridors of trafficking. Their narratives shed light on the harrowing
experiences, coercion tactics employed by traffickers, and the enduring psychological scars left in t he
wake of exploitation. Furthermore, the study seeks to evaluate existing support systems and
rehabilitation efforts available to survivors. While initiatives exist, there is often a gap between policy
frameworks and their implementation, leaving survivor s without adequate support to rebuild their lives.
In light of these findings, the study underscores the pressing need for multi
dimensional interventions.
Addressing the root causes of trafficking demands a comprehensive approach encompassing socio
econom ic empowerment, education, law enforcement reforms, and community based interventions. Moreover, preventive measures need to be fortified, including awareness campaigns and targeted
interventions aimed at vulnerable populations. Ultimately, the study adv ocates for the enhancement of
support systems tailored to the unique needs of survivors, ensuring access to essential services, psycho
social support, and avenues for economic independence. By amplifying the voices of survivors and
illuminating the complex ities of trafficking, this research endeavors to catalyze concerted efforts
towards combating this grave violation of human rights.
